New Serbian government elected
Belgrade, July 7, 2008 – Serbian MPs elected this evening a new Serbian
government with Mirko Cvetkovic in the office of the prime minister,
with 127 votes in favour.
Of 164 MPs present 27 were against, with no abstentions and ten did not vote.
Prime Minister Designate Mirko Cvetkovic presented to MPs earlier today
in his keynote address the key points of the new government's
programme.
The
new government will have a first deputy prime minister, three deputy
prime ministers and 25 ministers, including one without portfolio.
The Prime Minister and members of the government then took the oath of office.
Six MPs who were candidates for ministerial positions in the new government submitted their resignations as MPs.
Resignations
were submitted by Oliver Dulic, Goran Bogdanovic, Ivica Dacic, Zarko
Obradovic, Milutin Mrkonjic and Jovan Krkobabic.
