 On September 20th 2008, a rapid-transit chess tournament was held at “Sweet Gallery” in Toronto. The tournament was under the auspices and was organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Toronto.

Children's Serbian Song Festival |
 The first Children's Serbian Song festival named "Children to Children" was held in Toronto April 20, 2008 with the support of the Consulate General. At the final evening, 16 songs by Serbian composers from Canada, the U.S and children composers from Serbia were performed. The performers were children of Serbian decent, ages 3-13 who live in Toronto, Oakville, Hamilton, Kitchener and London, Ontario.

Serbia presents at the Geological Research Fair in Toronto |
 The Republic of Serbia participated at "PDAC 2008", the biggest fair for geological research in the World, held in Toronto. Serbia took part for the first time this year on the basis of the master plan of the Japanese company "MINDECO" and thanks to the support of "JICA", the Japanese government agency for international development.

On the occasion of "The Encounters", which take place every last Friday in the month at the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia, the painting "Queen Natalija Obrenovic" by Uros Predic from 1890 and the portrait "Woman in Serbian National Costume" by Poleksija Todorovic were presented on Jan 25. 2008.
